Richie comes to the cage accompanied by Deftones - lhabia. Lionel Richie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bang Wuzz's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richie misses with a lunging right hand
and Wuzz counters with a slapping leg kick.

Richie lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Richie. No joy for Wuzz on that attempt.

Richie tries to stall but Wuzz uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Lionel Richie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bang Wuzz.

Wuzz tries to pull guard but Richie holds him up against the cage and eventually Wuzz drops back down to his feet.
Wuzz is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Richie pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Richie struggles to land a body shot inside as Wuzz controls his hands.
Wuzz goes for a takedown attempt but Richie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Richie looks for the body kick but Wuzz saw that one coming.
Richie slaps away a takedown attempt from Wuzz, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Richie throws a head kick that half lands.

Lionel Richie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wuzz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Richie tries to avoid it but Wuzz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Richie to the ground. Richie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Richie counters with a nice body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wuzz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richie's waist but Richie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wuzz off to one side.

Wuzz darts in and clinches Richie up against the cage.
Richie lands an uppercut.
Wuzz wants to take the fight to the mat but Richie manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Wuzz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Richie after a bit of a struggle.

Richie lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wuzz backwards.
Richie works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Richie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wuzz moves forwards but Richie connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Richie and Wuzz are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Richie throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Wuzz into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Richie knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Lionel Richie!
Lionel Richie spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
