PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor McCracken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCracken has chosen Rebels Song - Come out and Fight as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor McCracken!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCracken shoots in looking for a takedown. Doyle tries to sprawl out of it but McCracken keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Doyle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Doyle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McCracken misses with an uppercut.
Doyle moves forwards but McCracken connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Doyle scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
McCracken throws a body punch but Doyle moves out of range.
Doyle appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
McCracken swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Doyle gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McCracken jumps guard but Doyle stands there with McCracken around his waist. McCracken gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jimmy Doyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor McCracken.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCracken drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Doyle makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
McCracken is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Doyle to keep the fight standing.
Doyle lands a shot to the body.

McCracken is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Doyle lands an elbow just above McCracken 's eye.

McCracken takes an elbow to the temple.
Doyle prevents a takedown attempt there.
McCracken fails to pull guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doyle lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
McCracken has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Doyle is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Doyle stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Doyle lands a nice elbow.
Doyle scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Doyle lands a nice elbow.

A nice right hand lands inside from Doyle.
A body shot lands from Doyle.
McCracken tries for a takedown. No joy.

Doyle lands a left hand that snaps the head of McCracken backwards.

Doyle gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McCracken.

Doyle presses McCracken against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Doyle lands an elbow just above McCracken 's eye.
McCracken tries to score a body lock takedown but Doyle shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Doyle pushes McCracken back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Doyle gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
McCracken jumps guard but Doyle stands there with McCracken around his waist. McCracken gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Doyle lands a left hand.
McCracken tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Doyle smiles and moves away.
A slapping body kick lands there for Doyle.
Doyle buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Doyle lands an overhand right.

Doyle closes the distance and clinches.
Doyle cracks McCracken with a nice body shot.
Doyle lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Doyle lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


McCracken is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doyle lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
McCracken is still on wobbly legs! Can Doyle finish him?
Doyle stops a takedown attempt from McCracken.
Doyle lands a nice elbow.
Doyle presses McCracken against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A short right from Doyle on the inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Doyle creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops McCracken! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Doyle.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Doyle!
Our winner, Jimmy Doyle, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
