Rakobesyan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, gimn armenii. Jurgel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rock N Roll Train. Ashot Rakobesyan is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rakobesyan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jurgel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jurgel fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rakobesyan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ashot Rakobesyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jurgel clinches with his opponent.
Jurgel drags the fight down to the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rakobesyan wants to stand but Jurgel is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jurgel seems keen to control Rakobesyan's posture.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rakobesyan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rakobesyan misses with a leg kick
and Jurgel counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rakobesyan thinking.
Rakobesyan is breathing heavily.

Jurgel seems keen to control Rakobesyan's posture.

Jurgel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rakobesyan wants to stand but Jurgel is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rakobesyan throws a right and a left that both miss.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rakobesyan misses with a double jab.
Jurgel lands with a hook. Rakobesyan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rakobesyan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jurgel is pushing down on Rakobesyan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rakobesyan is fighting to maintain full guard but Jurgel has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jurgel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Jurgel passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rakobesyan!
Jurgel is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Rakobesyan is in real trouble.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gorge Jurgel dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jurgel lands a head shot.
Jurgel drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jurgel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jurgel works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jurgel is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Rakobesyan is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
