Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tataki Mizuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Laguera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mizuto kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Beginning- One Ok Rock. Laguera is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rev Theory - Hell Yeah. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tataki Mizuto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexei Laguera! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laguera throws a low kick but Mizuto moves out of range easily. Mizuto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Laguera. Mizuto does a little dance to reset his feet. Laguera rushes Mizuto and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mizuto is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Laguera to keep the fight standing. Mizuto drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laguera gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laguera tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mizuto paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mizuto moves out of range of the body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mizuto is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Laguera. Alexei Laguera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Mizuto as Laguera shoots in. Mizuto fails with the takedown and Laguera counters with a head kick. That will keep Mizuto thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tataki Mizuto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Laguera is looking to clinch but Mizuto is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Laguera throws a sloppy head kick and Mizuto moves out of range easily. Laguera fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mizuto. Laguera cracks Mizuto with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Laguera keeps Mizuto at a distance using the push kick. Mizuto slips a jab from Laguera. Mizuto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Laguera fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laguera fails to land the takedown. Laguera fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Laguera misses with an uppercut. Laguera tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mizuto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Laguera tried to score with a low kick but Mizuto checks it. Laguera misses the jab. Laguera tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. That's four minutes gone in the round. Laguera looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mizuto! Mizuto is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Mizuto trying to hold on to Laguera's head to control him but Laguera postures up.
Mizuto makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mizuto. Mizuto tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mizuto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Laguera's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mizuto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mizuto with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexei Laguera dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mizuto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Laguera pinned against the cage. Laguera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice jab there from Laguera. Laguera tries to bum rush Mizuto with a series of wild strikes but Mizuto uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mizuto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laguera but Laguera pushes him off and we're back to square one. Laguera has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Laguera keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mizuto. Alexei Laguera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Laguera throws a half hearted mid kick. Mizuto closes the distance and pushes Laguera back into the cage. Mizuto wants to take the fight to the mat but Laguera manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mizuto as Laguera tries to tie him up. Laguera wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Laguera fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Laguera has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Mizuto managing to block the knees to the body from Laguera.
Laguera works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Mizuto keeping moving, preventing Laguera from controlling successfully. Laguera throwing strikes from guard but Mizuto blocks nicely. Laguera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Laguera with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mizuto pulls Laguera in close to prevent any damage. Laguera trying to control the position from guard on top but Mizuto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Laguera has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mizuto is proving hard to escape from. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mizuto is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Laguera lands a good elbow from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mizuto cracks Laguera with a solid left hand. Laguera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mizuto scoring with some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laguera can do anything to dispel that myth. Mizuto drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Mizuto as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Laguera screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Mizuto! Nice submission victory there!
