Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Lockheart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Lockheart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Pierce!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Lockheart 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lockheart tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pierce defends well and Lockheart ends up having to push Pierce into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lockheart on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Pierce lands a nice shot that snaps Lockheart's head back.
Pierce moves to clinch but Lockheart breaks away

so Lockheart counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've been hearing good reports from Lockheart's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lockheart thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pierce felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Lockheart is keen to just control but Pierce is a slippery customer.

Lockheart is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Lockheart is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pierce wants to improve his position but Lockheart is controlling well.

Lockheart wants to work for an arm triangle but Pierce is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pierce is concentrating on defense, preventing Lockheart from advancing position.

Lockheart is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pierce defends it well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Lockheart is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lockheart passes to full mount!
Pierce is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Pierce tries to lock up and control but Lockheart gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pierce is trying to escape the mount.
Lockheart throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Pierce can't escape the position.
Pierce tries to hold on but Lockheart postures up.

Lockheart looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Lockheart with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Lockheart takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lockheart wants to take his opponent's back but Pierce doesn't allow it.
Pierce tries to hold on but Lockheart pushes him away.

Lockheart fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Lockheart pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Pierce is desperately trying to improve his position but Lockheart has a good base and remains in mount.
Lockheart trying to control but Pierce is having none of it.
Pierce manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierce wants to control but Lockheart is keeping busy.
Pierce is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lockheart is staying active.
Lockheart wants to free his trapped foot but Pierce is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kurt Lockheart dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lockheart looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lockheart backing away here, and Pierce unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Lockheart takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Lockheart moves out of range of the body kick from Pierce.
Kurt Lockheart is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pierce with a nice cross.


It looks like Kurt Lockheart has been cut.
Pierce connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pierce fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pierce cracks Lockheart with a hook to the temple - Lockheart is on wobbly legs here! Pierce swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Lockheart falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Pierce wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lucas Pierce!
A relieved looking Lucas Pierce thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Kurt Lockheart had this to say: 'I'm sorry I did not deliver. I'll work harder in order not to disappoint the fans.'.
