Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Markus Fittz!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimazu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fittz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shimazu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fittz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fittz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
It appears Shimazu was looking to counter with a kick there.
Shimazu showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fittz.
Shimazu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shimazu tries to close the distance and clinch but Fittz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fittz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shimazu.
It looked like Shimazu wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A decent looking cross lands there for Shimazu.
Fittz lands a nice shot to the body.
Fittz misses with a double jab.
Fittz throws a nice looking combination but Shimazu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Shimazu rushes Fittz and presses him up against the cage.
Fittz takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Markus Fittz has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shimazu tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Shimazu unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Fittz looks winded!
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Shimazu lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Shimazu lands a left hand that snaps the head of Fittz backwards.

Fittz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Shimazu lands an uppercut.
Fittz wants to break free but Shimazu has control.
Fittz wants to get back to striking at distance but Shimazu won't allow it.
Fittz's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Shimazu swings wildly with an uppercut but Fittz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shimazu gets through Fittz's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fittz tries to circle away but Shimazu has him pinned against the cage.
Fittz's coach down at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fittz's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A nice right hand lands inside from Fittz.
Fittz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Shimazu looking to throw knees to the head but Fittz is blocking nicely.
Fittz wants to break free but Shimazu has control.
Shimazu struggles to land a body shot inside as Fittz controls his hands.
Fittz blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Shimazu lands a left hand.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Shimazu.
Shimazu tries a knee to the head but Fittz blocks it.
Fittz is trying to break the clinch but Shimazu has him pressed against the cage.
Shimazu throws a head punch that misses.

Shimazu lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Fittz.
Fittz can't break the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shimazu.

Fittz breaks the clinch.
Fittz misses with a double jab.
Shimazu paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Fittz throws a right hand that Shimazu ducks under and follows up with a left that Shimazu also avoids with ease.

Shimazu fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fittz, pushing him back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shimazu fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Shimazu as Fittz tries to tie him up.
Shimazu lands a hook to the side of the head.
Shimazu lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Shimazu scores with a shot to the side of Fittz's head.
Fittz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Shimazu unloads a knee to the mid-section.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fittz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Shimazu lands a hook to the side of the head.


Fittz is rocked!
Shimazu lands an uppercut.
Fittz is still on wobbly legs! Can Shimazu finish him?
Fittz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A fake to the body and Shimazu gets the Thai clinch. He wastes no time and tries to connect with knees to the head. This is dangerous for Fittz! He should get out! Another devastating knee and Fittz falls head first to the ground. It's all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). William Shimazu!
An out of breath and clearly excited William Shimazu thanked The Kings Attire and Laundry for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
