Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mathias Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelly is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Killing In The Name. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Kelly. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kelly.
Joe Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matthews clinches up against the cage.
Matthews is struggling to control the position.

Kelly stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

so Matthews counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kelly has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matthews can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kelly isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Matthews stacks Kelly on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Matthews!

Kelly has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
