Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Hopper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mateus Jesus! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopper gets tackled into the cage by Jesus. Jesus maintains the clinch. Hopper manages to break the clinch.
Jesus closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jesus pressing his opponent against the cage. Jesus jumps guard.
Jesus is trying to keep Hopper in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hopper accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hopper preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jesus throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jesus is trying to control the position but Hopper postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jesus is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jesus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hopper counters with a nice double leg into guard. Hopper stays in close to Jesus's body and controls the position. Hopper content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hopper has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hopper won't allow Jesus to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jesus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hopper controls the pace. Jesus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hopper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hopper is working Jesus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Jesus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hopper stacks Jesus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hopper! Jesus looks winded! Hopper scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jesus is looking to get back to his feet here but Hopper is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jesus's back. Hopper connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Jesus to escape the position.
Hopper struggling to land strikes to the head as Jesus covers up. You can see the frustration on Jesus's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Hopper thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hopper has the hooks in. Jesus is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jesus tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Hopper lands a nice shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jesus is working to get back to half guard.
Jesus takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Hopper landing strikes from the mount and Jesus is in trouble! Jesus sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hopper throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Hopper dominated that round. That's time! Hopper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jesus rushes Hopper and presses him up against the cage. Hopper content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Hopper tries to circle away but Jesus has him pinned against the cage. Hopper has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jesus is trying to keep an underhook but Hopper manages to get the takedown into half guard. Hopper prevents Jesus from standing back up.
Jesus tries to roll over but Hopper keeps him under control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jesus kicks off Hopper and gets to his feet.

Both fighters working to control the clinch. Hopper has had enough of the clinch but Jesus keeps him there for the moment. Hopper is trying to force a seperation but Jesus has the dominant position. Hopper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Hopper. No joy for Jesus on that attempt. Jesus with a lazy takedown attempt and Hopper counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Tyson Hopper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateus Jesus. Jesus is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hopper drops an elbow to the side of Jesus's head. Hopper looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hopper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jesus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hopper is nestled in close to Jesus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jesus blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hopper. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tyson Hopper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hopper throws a series of punches but Jesus avoids them all with ease. Hopper fails in his attempt to clinch. Hopper misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice takedown defense from Hopper. No joy for Jesus on that attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nice sprawl there from Hopper as Jesus shoots in. Jesus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jesus moves into the clinch. Hopper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick misses from Hopper. Hopper rushes Jesus and presses him up against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hopper breaks from the clinch.
Jesus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hopper closes the distance and clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Hopper dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hopper looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jesus closes the distance and clinches. A right hook to the body lands for Jesus.

Hopper is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jesus can't fight it off and eventually Hopper manages to take the fight to the floor. Jesus looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jesus wants to get back to his feet but Hopper is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jesus looking to control but Hopper passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Hopper there. Hopper stops Jesus from getting back to his feet.
Jesus actively working from the bottom here. Jesus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hopper missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hopper is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jesus wants to improve his position but Hopper is controlling well.

Hopper goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Jesus rushes Hopper and presses him up against the cage. Hopper wants a takedown but no success here.
Hopper wants to take the fight to the mat but Jesus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jesus tries for a takedown but Hopper manages to get underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyson Hopper. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hopper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
