Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rafael Villela!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from James misses.
Villela looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Villela misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Villela looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Villela misses with a series of wild punches.
Villela's coach down at island top team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Villela's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

James slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

James gets to his feet. Villela looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Some bone on bone action there as Villela checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
James throws the left hand but Villela avoids the punch easily.
Villela rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but James moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
James throws a leg kick but Villela sees it coming and moves out of range.

James drives through with a takedown into Villela's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
James seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Villela really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
James uses his free foot to push down on Villela's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Villela.

James 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

James seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Villela for as long as he can get away with.

Villela lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.

James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Villela is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

James scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

James has control of Villela's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Villela regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Villela is in a horrible position here. James smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

A very excited looking Jayden James rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
