Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jay Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Pravola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Pravola has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Jay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Pravola!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pravola swings widly with a right hand
and Jay counters with a nice uppercut.
Pravola fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Jay checks it well.
Jay digs a good hook to Pravola's body.
Jay uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pravola.
Pravola has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Jay connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pravola swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pravola throws a leg kick but Jay checks it.
Jay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pravola.
Jay lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Pravola throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pravola misses with a low kick.

Jay looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pravola gets full guard.
Jay trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Pravola manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Pravola tries to free his leg and advance position but Jay is retaining full guard.

Jay is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pravola seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jay on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jay tries to get out of the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pravola's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Let's hope that Pravola has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pravola misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jay.

Pravola lands a big head kick that sends Jay tumbling to the mat! Pravola takes a step backwards and waves Jay back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Jay is rocked!
Pravola lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Oh Jay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pravola throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jay sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jay moves out of range of the strikes.
Pravola is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pravola swings for the body but Jay moves out of range.
Pravola lands with a thumping leg kick.
Pravola ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jay moves away.
Jay seems to have got his legs back now.
Pravola takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Jay walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pravola tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jay shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pravola eats them both and turns towards Jay to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Jay steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pravola.
Pravola misses with a straight right.
Jay checks a low kick from Pravola.
Pravola goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A jab from Pravola misses.
A slow jab from Pravola misses its intended target.
Jay moves out of range as Pravola strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Pravola dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A telegraphed right hand from Pravola misses the target.
Pravola connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Frank Pravola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jay punishes Pravola's body with a nice straight punch.
Pravola has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Good exchange - Jay coming out on top.
Jay keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pravola throws a leg kick that misses.
Pravola throws a hook to the side of Jay's head but Jay sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jay avoids the head kick by Pravola.
Jay moves out of range of the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jay displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pravola throws out the jab.

Jay bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Jay takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jay walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pravola checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Pravola throws a front kick aimed at Jay's knee but Jay avoids it well.

Frank Pravola seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Pravola lands a leg kick that knocks Jay off balance momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Jay cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jay avoids the body shot from Pravola.
Jay avoids the head kick by Pravola.
Pravola takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Nice defenses there by Jay.
Pravola swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pravola throws a lazy right hand but Jay sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pravola will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Jay counters with a series of strikes. Pravola will be more careful next time no doubt.

Jay has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pravola has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jay has managed to get both his arms back between Pravola's legs - danger averted.
Pravola tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pravola working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Pravola is tightening it up a little... Jay has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jay reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jay taps out! Nice BJJ there by Pravola!
