Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zach Makovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JJ Shaw struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. JJ Shaw looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zach Makovsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JJ Shaw! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw fails to land the takedown. Shaw doesn't manage to clinch there - Makovsky circles away.
Shaw has his takedown stuffed and Makovsky counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shaw's knee momentarily. Shaw is looking to clinch but Makovsky is avoiding it.
Shaw walks into a jab. Shaw takes one to the chin there. Shaw shoots in but no luck this time. Zach Makovsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JJ Shaw. No luck for Shaw with that takedown attempt. Shaw cracks Makovsky with a good jab. JJ Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Shaw takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Makovsky shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shaw napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Makovsky is putting a hurting on Shaw here, landing some big shots from side control.
Shaw is rocked! Makovsky lands an elbow. Shaw is still in real trouble! Can Makovsky finish him? Makovsky cracks Shaw with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Makovsky immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Shaw is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Makovsky!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zach Makovsky! After the fight, Zach Makovsky was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
