Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Dick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl Tossgrove! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tossgrove lands a nice hook to Dick's body. Dick takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Dick slips a jab and a cross from Tossgrove.
Tossgrove scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Tossgrove lands a jab-cross combination. Tossgrove swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Dick with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tossgrove to score with a decent uppercut. Tossgrove throws a series of punches but Dick moves out of range. Tossgrove throws a wild combination but nothing lands. This has been an exciting period of action! Tossgrove throws a lazy uppercut
and Dick holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Dick keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tossgrove's efforts to push away. Tossgrove's coach down at Soul Supremacy - UK was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tossgrove's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A frustrated look appears on Tossgrove's face as he tries to break the clinch. Dick keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tossgrove's efforts to push away. Tossgrove is pressed up against the cage. Dick has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tossgrove down to the mat. Tossgrove avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Tossgrove misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Dick counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dick. Dick tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Dick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tossgrove is looking to break free of the clinch but Dick has double underhooks. Tossgrove escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dick shoots in looking for a takedown but Tossgrove manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dick's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tossgrove throws a jab when Dick was well out of range. Tossgrove sizes up Dick with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Tossgrove lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dick is rocked! Dick gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Tossgrove gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carl Tossgrove! After the fight, Carl Tossgrove was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
