Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Trap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mack Ua!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trap feints and as Ua raises his hands in defense, Trap changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Trap postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Trap connects with a couple of short punches.
Trap is pushing down on Ua's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ua is fighting to maintain full guard but Trap has managed to sneak the leg through.
Trap thows a huge punch but Ua dodges it nicely.
Trap is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trap is keen to just control but Ua is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ua is looking for a sweep. Trap is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ua blocking the ground and pound attempt from Trap.
Trap throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Trap throwing shots but Ua is blocking nicely.
Ua is trying to control but can't.
Trap lands with a punch from half guard.
Nice strikes from Trap there.
Trap slows the pace down in half guard.

Trap is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Trap looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Trap moves nicely into side control.

Trap creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ua sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Trap throws an elbow but Ua slips to the side and avoids it well.
Trap scoring with punches and elbows.
We've been hearing that Trap has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Trap working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Ua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trap. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trap in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Ua takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Trap looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ua is avoiding damage well.
Ua looking for a sweep but Trap has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Trap looking to control but Ua is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Trap postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Ua badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Trap around the waist but Trap pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Trap is the winner by TKO! Trap jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
