PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Krisn Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammel Nister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Krisn Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sammel Nister!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan ducks under a wild hook from Nister.
Khan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nister misses with a looping left.
Nister waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Khan.
Nister has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Khan is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Nister looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Khan wants to improve his position but Nister is controlling well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nister is nestled in close to Khan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Nister seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Nister looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Khan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nister seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nister is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Khan has hold of Nister's hands but Nister slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Nister seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Khan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nister throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nister throws the left hand but Khan avoids the punch easily.
Khan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Khan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Khan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nister sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nister throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Khan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nister throws a hook to the side of Khan's head but Khan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sammel Nister showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Nister fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Khan avoids it really well and circles away.
Khan looks to score with a jab to the body but Nister is just out of range.
Khan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nister circles away quickly and effectively.
Khan ducks under a wild hook from Nister.
Khan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Nister shoots in and drives through. Khan sprawls well.

Nister shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nister was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

You can see the frustration on Khan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Krisn Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Sammel Nister comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Nister winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
