Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramon Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alfonso Silitonga! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie misses with a wild body shot. Gracie slips a straight right by Silitonga. Silitonga is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard. Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silitonga is working away from the top position though. Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silitonga defends it easily. Gracie lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silitonga trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silitonga keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie is looking to pass into half guard but Silitonga pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Silitonga is in guard. Silitonga advances position into side control! Silitonga throwing shots but missing, from side control. Silitonga tries to stand but Gracie is controlling his head. Gracie regains half guard. Silitonga missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Gracie controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie trying to hold on to Silitonga's head to control him but Silitonga postures up.
Silitonga is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gracie sees it coming and defends easily. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Silitonga tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gracie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gracie tries to get to full guard but Silitonga has control of the leg. Silitonga stalling away here and it's allowed Gracie to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silitonga manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie is working hard here to advance position. Gracie stands and throws Silitonga's legs to the side, diving into side control. Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Silitonga is not content to let Gracie control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie advances nicely into full mount. Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Silitonga because Gracie loaded up on that one. Silitonga tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Silitonga manages to avoid the submission attempt. Silitonga is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silitonga is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Gracie has just dragged him back down to the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ramon Gracie will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Silitonga throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silitonga is in Gracie's guard. Silitonga trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie trying to control the position here. Silitonga trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silitonga trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silitonga defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silitonga throws a big elbow that misses. Silitonga won't allow Gracie to sweep him here. Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.
Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Silitonga has wrist control. Silitonga keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie being controlled here momentarily. Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silitonga is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it. Gracie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Silitonga's legs. Silitonga isn't going anywhere. Silitonga stops Gracie from passing to mount. Gracie wants to control but Silitonga is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silitonga is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Silitonga is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Gracie looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Silitonga looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Silitonga pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Silitonga is posturing up here but Gracie has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Silitonga tries to roll out but it's too tight and Silitonga has to tap! Slick submission there by Gracie!
