Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joesph Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreas Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlsson has chosen Forest Whitiker - Brother Ali as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joesph Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andreas Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson connects with a solid leg kick.
Karlsson lands a nice looking body shot.

Karlsson moves into the clinch successfully.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Karlsson.

Karlsson manages to break the clinch.
Wyatt shoots in for a takedown but Karlsson shows good takedown defense.
Wyatt chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Karlsson can pounce on him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Karlsson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karlsson just misses with a punch to the body.

Wyatt tries to keep at a distance but Karlsson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Karlsson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wyatt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Karlsson as he avoids it easily.
Andreas Karlsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karlsson shoots in but Wyatt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wyatt goes for a double leg but Karlsson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Karlsson continues to drive forward.

Karlsson is trying to push Wyatt away but Wyatt has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Wyatt drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Karlsson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Karlsson is looking to stand up but Wyatt isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wyatt has gone for a leg lock! Karlsson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wyatt's guard.

Wyatt wants to get back to his feet but Karlsson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Karlsson wants to pass the guard but Wyatt is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Karlsson throws out a loose jab but Wyatt uses good head movement to avoid it.

Karlsson tries to sprawl but Wyatt drives through with a takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Karlsson rushes Wyatt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wyatt looking to throw knees to the head but Karlsson is blocking nicely.

Karlsson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Wyatt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wyatt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Karlsson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wyatt defends it easily.
Wyatt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Karlsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wyatt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Andreas Karlsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wyatt throws a strike but Karlsson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Karlsson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wyatt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Karlsson has Wyatt in his guard.


Wyatt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Karlsson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Karlsson has escaped and now he's on top!

Karlsson throws a strike but Wyatt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Andreas Karlsson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
