Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Banting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jon Banting was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banting looks to land a combination but Jimenez avoids it well.
Banting misses with a few strikes there.
Jimenez darts in and clinches Banting up against the cage.
Jimenez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jimenez gets control of Banting's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jimenez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jimenez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Banting is controlling him.
Banting trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Banting must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jimenez is trying to control the position but Banting postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jimenez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Banting doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Banting manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jimenez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Banting is one step ahead there.

Jimenez is looking for a triangle here but Banting uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jimenez wants to control but Banting postures up.
Banting tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Jimenez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jimenez is trying to control Banting's posture but Banting avoids it.
Jimenez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Banting is trying to ground and pound but Jimenez uses the momentary lack of control by Banting to regain half guard.
Jimenez tries to kick Banting off but Banting keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jimenez kicks off Banting and gets to his feet.
Jimenez stuffs the takedown.
Jimenez is looking to clinch.

Banting misses with a takedown
and Jimenez counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Jimenez drives through and clinches with Banting against the cage.
Jimenez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jimenez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Banting walks away with a smile on his face. Jimenez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jimenez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jimenez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jimenez tries for a kimura but Banting is defending well.
Jimenez has hold of Banting's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Banting tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jimenez cranks the arm and Banting screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Banting, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Enrique Jimenez!
