The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krejza is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mahuika's half guard.
Mahuika looking for submissions off his back.
Mahuika on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Krejza prevents Mahuika from improving his position.
Krejza takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Krejza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mahuika has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Krejza has managed to get both his arms back between Mahuika's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mahuika is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Krejza is looking to control Mahuika's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Krejza avoid being mounted?

Krejza is trying to hold Mahuika in close to prevent damage but Mahuika has managed to pass into half guard.
Mahuika is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Krejza is just riding it out for now. Mahuika eventually gives up the hold.

Kauri Mahuika decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
