Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hard Headed!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Headed explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Headed throws a quick inside leg kick.
Barnett shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Headed but Headed pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Crunch! Headed slams his shin into Barnett's torso.
A shot to the body from Barnett misses

and Headed moves into the clinch.
Headed landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Barnett is breathing heavily.

Headed breaks from the clinch.
Headed lands a high kick!
Headed lands a nice looking kick to the body. Barnett takes a step back to recover.

Headed clinches up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barnett definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

It looks like Josh Barnett has been cut.

Headed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Headed fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barnett, pushing him back against the cage.

Headed lands a big head kick that sends Barnett tumbling to the mat! Headed takes a step backwards and waves Barnett back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Headed - that will leave a mark!
Barnett chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Headed can pounce on him.
Hard Headed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Headed clinches up with Barnett and pushes him back against the cage.
Barnett takes an elbow to the temple.
Headed connects with a nasty looking knee right to Barnett's face.


Josh Barnett's cut is getting worse.

Headed breaks from the clinch.
Headed throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Headed moves into the clinch.
Barnett takes an elbow to the forehead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Headed unloads a knee to the mid-section. Barnett lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Headed stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Headed continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Barnett has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Headed after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Barnett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Headed lands a nice elbow.
Headed using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Headed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Headed throws a nice inside leg kick.

Headed pushes Barnett up against the cage in a clinch.
Barnett goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Headed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barnett fails to land the takedown.

Barnett tries to keep at a distance but Headed has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Headed obliges.
Headed gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Headed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Headed breaks from the clinch.
Barnett steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Headed. That one must have hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Headed instigates a clinch.

Headed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Headed goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


Josh Barnett's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Headed lands a big head kick that sends Barnett tumbling to the mat! Headed takes a step backwards and waves Barnett back to his feet - he wants the finish!
A solid body kick from Headed.
Headed buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Barnett is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Headed Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Barnett is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Hard Headed!
Hard Headed bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
