The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akim tries to clinch but Leon is having none of it.
Leon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Akim.

Akim decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Akim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Leon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Akim avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Leon sneaks back into half guard.

Akim looking for a submission but Leon manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Leon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Akim is aware though and is defending well.

Akim gets to his feet - Leon follows without any prompting.
Akim fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Akim lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Leon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Leon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Akim drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Leon gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Leon tries to pull guard but Akim forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Leon gets control of Akim's arms and successfully pulls guard. Leon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
