Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny McHail! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricardo Moraes! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McHail with a jab. McHail throws a combination. Moraes tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Moraes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. McHail throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Moraes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. McHail connects with a jab. McHail slips a jab and a cross from Moraes.
A nice combination there by McHail.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McHail misses with the combination.
Moraes misses with the combination.
McHail throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Moraes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice body punch from McHail. Moraes swinging wildly here.
McHail cracks Moraes with an open hand slap.
That's one minute gone in the round. McHail lands a two punch combo.
McHail ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Moraes moves away. McHail connects with a body shot that sends Moraes's belly button to the back. McHail takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McHail throws a nice looking combination but Moraes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. McHail really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Moraes looks to score with a jab to the body but McHail is just out of range. As Moraes looks to move away, McHail throws a big counter combo bu Moraes just gets out of the way. A punch combination from Moraes misses. McHail with a body punch. A glancing blow. A punch combination from McHail misses. Despite the aggression on Moraes's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Moraes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McHail scores with a jab. Moraes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. McHail looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Jab by McHail. No joy there for Moraes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McHail lands with a right that hurts Moraes. Moraes looks to clinch but McHail throws a short knee that drops Moraes. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Johnny McHail!
