Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Tinkl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Rogue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billy Tinkl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dennis Rogue!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tinkl blocks a leg kick.

Tinkl has managed to clinch.
Rogue lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Tinkl blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Rogue throws a punch but it's blocked by Tinkl.
Rogue letting Tinkl take a breather here.
Rogue comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Tinkl misses with a punch to the body.
Tinkl tries to stall but Rogue uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Rogue working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Tinkl has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rogue after a bit of a struggle.
Rogue swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Rogue tries a knee to the head but Tinkl blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogue lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Rogue misses with a hook from the clinch.
Rogue goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Tinkl can't break the clinch.

Tinkl gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tinkl is looking to advance position but Rogue won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogue is controlling Tinkl's trapped leg to prevent Tinkl from advancing to side control.
Rogue really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tinkl. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tinkl is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Tinkl wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rogue keeps working.
Tinkl works his foot free and advances to mount.

Tinkl is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tinkl shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rogue looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tinkl is one step ahead there.
Rogue keeping moving, preventing Tinkl from controlling successfully.
Tinkl in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tinkl sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Tinkl definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tinkl passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Tinkl is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rogue trying to control here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tinkl is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rogue defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tinkl seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogue does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tinkl not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Tinkl keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Tinkl is looking to advance position but Rogue won't allow it.

Rogue is defending against the submission attempts here by Tinkl.

Tinkl is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rogue is staying active underneath Tinkl, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Tinkl dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Tinkl.
Tinkl with a poor takedown
and Rogue counters with a thumping low kick.
Tinkl will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Tinkl. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rogue stuffs the takedown.
Tinkl closes the distance and clinches up with Rogue, looking for a takedown. Tinkl pushes Rogue against the cage but Rogue circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rogue catches Tinkl with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Tinkl on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rogue. Rogue obviously looking to wear him down.

Tinkl dives in and scores a takedown into Rogue's guard.
Tinkl throwing strikes but missing.
Tinkl is standing up over Rogue. Rogue looks to escape but Tinkl dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tinkl controls the position from side control.

Tinkl goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rogue has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tinkl but great work by Rogue.
Tinkl manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Tinkl is trying to control the action in half guard but Rogue is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Rogue trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Tinkl throws some wild stikes that Rogue manages to avoid easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tinkl throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rogue because Tinkl loaded up on that one.

Tinkl is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Tinkl extends the arm and Rogue is forced to tap!
