Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Zal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thad Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Nick Zal has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nick Zal seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe with a poor takedown

and Zal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Zal.
Zal engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Zal passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Zal seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Zal lands strikes from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monroe has hold of Zal's hands but Zal slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Monroe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Zal scores with a couple of nice shots.
Zal not doing much here.
Monroe tries to kick Zal off in order to stand up. Zal Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Monroe takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Zal content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Zal is putting a hurting on Monroe here, landing some big shots from side control.

Monroe is rocked!

Monroe is still in real trouble! Can Zal finish him?
Zal cracks Monroe with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Zal immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Monroe is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Zal!
