Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buford Barton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Osborne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buford Barton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Earl Osborne! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Osborne looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barton is fending him off so far but Osborne persists. Nope, Barton circles away and we're back to standing. Barton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Barton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Osborne to the ground. Barton is now in Osborne's guard. Barton throwing strikes from guard but Osborne blocks nicely. Barton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Barton postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Osborne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Osborne utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Earl Osborne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Osborne has closed the distance and engaged Barton in a clinch.

Osborne swats away the attempt to clinch by Barton. Barton shoots in and bounces Osborne off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Barton throws a big right hand that misses. Osborne has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Barton has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Osborne breaks from the clinch.

Osborne must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Osborne tries to stand but Barton is controlling from the bottom. Barton pulls Osborne in close to prevent any damage. Osborne prevents Barton from getting back to his feet. Barton pulls Osborne in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Osborne is controlling him.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Osborne clinches with his opponent.

Osborne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Osborne is defended easily by Barton. Buford Barton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Earl Osborne. Osborne takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Osborne misses with a knee to the head. Barton lands on the inside with an uppercut. Barton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Barton has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Osborne avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Osborne wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barton has him pressed against the cage. Osborne breaks from the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Osborne is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Osborne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barton as he jumps to the side. Barton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Osborne manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Barton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Osborne defends it nicely. Barton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barton connects with a nice short shot to Osborne's temple. Earl Osborne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Buford Barton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buford Barton. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Barton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
