The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matters shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Doe's guard.
Doe looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Matters wants to control from the top but Doe keeps moving.
Matters throwing strikes from guard but Doe blocks nicely.
Matters has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Matters is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Doe has a closed guard, preventing Matters from standing up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Matters.
Matters scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Doe is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Matters.
Nice takedown defense from Doe. No joy for Matters on that attempt.

Doe wants to get back to his feet but Matters is dominant here and he's now got Doe's back!

Matters is cranking Doe's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Doe! He's tightened the choke and Doe is tapping out!
