Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edmund Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamad Izzat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edmund Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mohamad Izzat!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker fails in his attempt to clinch.
Parker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Izzat looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Izzat shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Izzat showed some decent athleticism there.
Parker moves into full guard.
Parker trying to keep a closed guard but Izzat is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Parker is looking to stand up but Izzat isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Parker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Izzat is one step ahead there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Izzat drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Parker manages to get back to half guard.
Parker is doing well to control the position and prevent Izzat from advancing to side control.
Parker is looking for a sweep. Izzat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Parker is concentrating on defense, preventing Izzat from advancing position.

Parker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Parker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Izzat doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Izzat manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Parker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Izzat gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Parker is trying to stand back up but Izzat is controlling him
Parker regains full guard. Nicely done.
Izzat stops Parker from standing up.

Parker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Izzat can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Izzat pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Parker is keeping the position for now.
Izzat throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Parker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Izzat wants to stand but Parker is controlling the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Parker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Izzat is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Izzat has escaped and now he's on top!

Izzat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Parker is pulling down on Izzat's head to control his posture.
Mohamad Izzat has got the better of the ground game so far.

Parker working for a triangle but Izzat defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker wants to sweep here but Izzat controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Izzat stands up over Parker, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Izzat drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Parker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Izzat has Parker in his guard.


Parker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Parker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Parker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Parker cracks Izzat with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Izzat is trying to get back to his feet.

Parker fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Parker works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Izzat is trying to control Parker's posture but Parker avoids it.
The ground and pound from Parker seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

A lull in the action here as Parker stalls from top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Parker tries for a kimura but Izzat is defending well.
Izzat struggling a bit here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Edmund Parker dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Parker dives in and scores a takedown into Izzat's guard.
Parker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Izzat can do to turn this around?

Parker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Izzat tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Parker is looking to clinch.

Izzat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Parker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Izzat drops back, looking for a kneebar! Parker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Parker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Parker!

Parker cracks Izzat with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Parker looks up at the clock and then as Izzat takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Parker smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Izzat is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Parker asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The strikes coming from Parker are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Parker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Izzat wants to get back to his feet.
Parker scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Izzat to see if he's OK.
Parker looks up at the clock and then as Izzat takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Parker smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Izzat is trying to control Parker's posture but Parker avoids it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Parker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Parker postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
