PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hardy's choice of entrance music: "We Are" by Hollywood Undead. Rafael Tran has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tran's head.

Hardy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hardy decides to stand back up.

Hardy tries to keep at a distance but Tran has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tran fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tran tries to break free but Hardy pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hardy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Hardy is trying to control. Tran wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hardy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hardy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hardy showed some decent athleticism there.

Hardy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tran does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tran tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hardy paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Tran postures up in Hardy's guard and throws a big left but Hardy blocks it.
Tran lands a couple of digs.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tran accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hardy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Tran throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hardy escapes and throws Tran's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Tran regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hardy's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Hardy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Xavier Hardy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hardy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
