Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nestor Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Maximus looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nestor Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Maximus!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Head.


It looks like Dan Maximus has been cut.
Maximus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Head keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Head shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maximus as he jumps to the side.
Maximus doesn't manage to clinch there - Head circles away.
Head tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maximus swivels and escapes.
Maximus tries to bum rush Head with a series of wild strikes but Head uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Maximus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nestor Head. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Head scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Head decides to stand back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Head is trying hard to land a takedown here. Maximus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Head darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Head lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Head scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Head lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Head content to control rather than advance.
Maximus on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Head has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Head perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Head looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maximus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
It looks like Head is going to stand back up.
Head seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Head stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Head closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maximus to the mat! Maximus manages to get full guard.
Head working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Head will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Head postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Head postures up in Maximus's guard and throws a big left but Maximus blocks it.
Head lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Head with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Head working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Maximus's head.
Head postures up in Maximus's guard and throws a big left but Maximus blocks it.

Head gets to his feet - Maximus follows without any prompting.
Maximus on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Head.
Head could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Head is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maximus's half guard.
Maximus trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Head is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Maximus can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Head dives in and scores a takedown into Maximus's guard.
Maximus wants to stand but Head is controlling the position.
Head is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maximus can do to turn this around?

Head throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maximus's waist but Maximus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Head off to one side.
Head shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maximus pinned against the cage. Maximus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Maximus tries to sprawl but Head drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Head tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Maximus.

Maximus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Head is working away from the top position though.
Head wants to stand up but Maximus is controlling the position.
Head winds up and cracks Maximus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Head wants to stand up but Maximus has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Head scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nice strikes from Head there.

Head gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Maximus tries to clinch there but Head circles away.
Some wild striking there from Head.
Head throws a right and a left that both miss.

Head closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Maximus's guard.
Maximus has a closed guard, preventing Head from standing up.
Head makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Head wants to control from the top but Maximus keeps moving.

Head stands up from Maximus's guard - Head perhaps looking for a knockout.

Head shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maximus is trying to defend but Head finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Head is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Well, if Head is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Maximus is refusing to be controlled, as Head sits in half guard.

Maximus struggles to land a body shot inside as Head controls his hands.
Maximus swings wildly with an uppercut but Head uses good head movement to avoid it.

Head escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Head looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maximus is fending him off so far but Head persists. Nope, Maximus circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maximus shoots in looking for a takedown. Head tries to sprawl out of it but Maximus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Head manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Head looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Nestor Head showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Head, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
