Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pernell Whitaker Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Stumpp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stumpp comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Macabre - Werewolf Of Bedburg kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pernell Whitaker Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Stumpp! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitaker Jr moves away from the strike by Stumpp. Whitaker Jr thows a leg kick but Stumpp checks it and Stumpp counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Stumpp trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Stumpp sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whitaker Jr pulls Stumpp in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stumpp trying to control but Whitaker Jr is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitaker Jr working a defensive guard but Stumpp manages to pass into side control anyway.
Stumpp controlling the position from side mount. Whitaker Jr is not content to let Stumpp control the position. Stumpp creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Whitaker Jr sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Whitaker Jr is looking for a sweep. Stumpp is looking to take a break and control but Whitaker Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Whitaker Jr is trying to control Stumpp's posture but Stumpp avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stumpp controlling the position. Stumpp trying to control the action but Whitaker Jr is working from the bottom. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Stumpp has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Whitaker Jr! Stumpp lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Whitaker Jr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stumpp landing punches. Whitaker Jr sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Stumpp is taking a breather. Whitaker Jr says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Whitaker Jr is refusing to be controlled, as Stumpp sits in half guard. Stumpp is pressing down on Whitaker Jr's thigh, looking to free his foot. Whitaker Jr is holding on for now. Whitaker Jr keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Whitaker Jr trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitaker Jr is staying active underneath Stumpp, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Whitaker Jr gets full guard. Whitaker Jr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Stumpp tries to free his leg and advance position but Whitaker Jr is retaining full guard. Stumpp is still trying to improve position. Stumpp trying to control but Whitaker Jr is working from the bottom. Stumpp with a flurry of punches that miss. Stumpp is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Whitaker Jr trying to keep a closed guard but Stumpp is proving a slippery customer.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Whitaker Jr circles away from the clinch attempt and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Stumpp dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stumpp throws a leg kick but Whitaker Jr sees it coming and moves out of range. Stumpp has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Whitaker Jr with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Whitaker Jr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stumpp. Stumpp circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Stumpp throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Stumpp connects with an inside leg kick. Stumpp takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Peter Stumpp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stumpp shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Whitaker Jr as he jumps to the side. Whitaker Jr dips to his left and cracks Stumpp with an uppercut! Whitaker Jr cracks Stumpp with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Stumpp lands a nice leg kick that just misses Whitaker Jr's sensitive parts. Whitaker Jr slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Stumpp throws a leg kick but Whitaker Jr moved away. Whitaker Jr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stumpp sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stumpp tries for a takedown but Whitaker Jr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Stumpp misses with a body shot.
Stumpp shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Whitaker Jr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Whitaker Jr is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stumpp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Whitaker Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Whitaker Jr is pulling down on Stumpp's head. It's preventing any offense from Stumpp, at least for the moment. Stumpp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Whitaker Jr is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whitaker Jr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stumpp defends it easily. Stumpp trying to control but Whitaker Jr is working from the bottom. Stumpp swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stumpp has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Whitaker Jr misses with a head kick.
Whitaker Jr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stumpp walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Stumpp attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Stumpp looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Pernell Whitaker Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Stumpp. No luck for Stumpp with that takedown attempt. Stumpp avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pernell Whitaker Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice body kick there by Whitaker Jr. Whitaker Jr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stumpp sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitaker Jr pushes Stumpp up against the cage in a clinch. A head punch on the inside from Stumpp fails to land. Whitaker Jr misses with a punch to the body.
Stumpp pulls guard. Stumpp is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Whitaker Jr has his hands clasped together but Stumpp extends and breaks Whitaker Jr's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Stumpp.
