The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Meridius defends well and Rodriguez ends up having to push Meridius into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Meridius rushes Rodriguez and presses him up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Meridius just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rodriguez's brow.
Meridius lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Meridius pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Rodriguez goes for a takedown attempt but Meridius pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Meridius darts in and clinches Rodriguez up against the cage.

Clinched against the cage, Meridius lands a big elbow that drops Rodriguez! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Rodriguez is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
