Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Skip Dillinger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Sakuraba! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakuraba shoots in but Dillinger avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sakuraba misses with a takedown and Dillinger counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. We've been told by Dillinger's head coaches at [CBK] Punch-kicker Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Sakuraba looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dillinger is looking for a sweep. Sakuraba is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dillinger is working hard here to advance position. Sakuraba has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Dillinger defend it? Sakuraba steps over the head and cranks it - Dillinger is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Sakuraba!
