Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Debor Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyon Du (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Du Hast kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Lyon Du is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Debor Tan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyon Du! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Du takes a swing at Tan's ribcage but misses. Du thuds a left hand into Tan's body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Du. Tan throws a jab but it's blocked by Du. Du slips a jab from Tan. Tan misses with a hook. Du ducked under it nicely. Du fails to land the takedown. Du fails with an attempt to clinch.
Du shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Du looking to secure an arm triangle but Tan defends it well. Du throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Tan tries to reverse the position but Du maintains control. Du throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tan is looking to improve his position but Du isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tan tries to hold on but Du postures up. Du is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Tan is desperately trying to improve his position but Du has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Tan is working to get back to half guard.

Tan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Du fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Du lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Du tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Du slips under a jab from Tan. Du slips under a jab. Du ducks under a wild hook from Tan. Du takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Tan catches Du with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Tan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tan throws a jab when Du was well out of range. Du misses with a wild body shot. Du throws a series of punches but Tan moves out of range. Du throws a right and a left that Tan avoids nicely. Tan gets caught flat footed, as Du shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Tan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Du distracts Tan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Du is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tan trying to control the position.
Du with a nice head shot there. Du chips away with some ground and pound. Du postures up.
Du pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tan is keeping the position for now. Du postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Du, into his guard. Tan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Tan tries to free his leg and advance position but Du is retaining full guard. Tan trying to control the position from guard on top but Du is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Du is striking from the bottom but Tan uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Du gets back to full guard.
Du looking for a sweep. Not yet Du, not yet. Du keeping moving, preventing Tan from controlling successfully. Tan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Du is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tan wants to improve his position but instead Du has moved into half guard.
Du throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Tan tries to roll over but Du keeps him under control. Tan is not content to let Du control the position. Du is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Du thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Du uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tan. Tan misses the shot to the body. A solid leg kick lands there for Tan.
Tan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Du circles away quickly and effectively. A cross from Du lands. Du misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tan throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tan throws an overhand right that lands on Du's shoulder, as Du tries to avoid the shot. Du scores with a shot to the body.
Du gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Du is working for takedown but Tan is calmly controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Lyon Du will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tan is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Tan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Du misses with an uppercut. Tan saw that one coming. Du tries to clinch but Tan is having none of it. Lyon Du seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Du throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

Tan throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Du misses with a takedown and Tan counters with a leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Du ducks right into an uppercut from Tan. Tan stalks Du and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Du's face. Du staggers backwards, shaken. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tan pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tan throws a head kick that misses. Du wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Du tries to clinch but fails miserably and Tan counters with a stiff right hand. Du drives through and clinches with Tan against the cage.
Tan is looking to control Du's arms but Du gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tan has his back to the cage. Du tries to pull guard but Tan holds him up against the cage and eventually Du drops back down to his feet.
Tan scores with a nice hook to the head. Du throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Du pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Debor Tan is winning the standup battle so far. Tan dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Tan wants to clinch up but Du keeps it at a distance. Du lands with an overhand left. Tan waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Du. Tan ducks under a wild hook from Du. Du takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tan throws a big shot that misses. Du avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Tan cracks Du with an open hand slap. Du looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Debor Tan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyon Du. Tan throws a right hand that Du ducks under and follows up with a left that Du also avoids with ease. Tan jabs Du right on the nose. Du blinks but takes it well. Debor Tan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A big left from Tan misses. Du fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Du throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Du with a lazy takedown attempt and Tan counters with a straight right hand. Nice uppercut lands for Tan. That snapped Du's head back.
Tan cracks a nice hook into Du's ribs. Du paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Tan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Du's head. Tan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Du darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Tan misses with an uppercut. Du saw that one coming. Du drives through and clinches with Tan against the cage.

Du has hold of one of Tan's legs. Tan is fighting the takedown attempt but Du gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Lyon Du has got the better of the ground game so far. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tan is on top in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Du jabs Tan right on the nose. Tan blinks but takes it well. Du throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Du forces Tan back against the cage and clinches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Du tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tan smiles and moves away.

Tan is pushing Du up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Du wants to break free but Tan has control.

Du tries to score a body lock takedown but Tan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Tan taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Tan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A lazy left from Tan finds it's target. Du ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tan moves away. Du misses with a takedown attempt - Tan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Du closes the distance and clinches up with Tan, looking for a takedown. Du pushes Tan against the cage but Tan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Du shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tan as he avoids it easily.

That made a horrendous noise. Tan stuffs the takedown attempt from Du. Du gets slowly back to his feet. Du moves out of range of the strikes. Tan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Du wants to clinch. Tan keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Du. Du lands a nice shot to the body.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Du is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Tan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! Lyon Du comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Du has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
