Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryant has chosen Lock'D Up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Tommy Gunn has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, AJ Bryant! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunn ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Bryant shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gunn pinned against the cage. Gunn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gunn shoots in looking for a takedown. Bryant tries to sprawl out of it but Gunn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bryant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gunn has his takedown stuffed and Bryant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bryant preventing the sweep. Bryant postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bryant trying to control but Gunn is working from the bottom. Bryant landing with the ground and pound. Gunn keeping full guard, as Bryant tries to pass. Bryant drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bryant jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gunn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bryant gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn working for a triangle but Bryant defends it easily.

Gunn keeping moving, preventing Bryant from controlling successfully. Bryant controls from within his opponent's guard. Bryant slips nicely into half guard. Bryant is working for a kimura but Gunn is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bryant is looking to take a break and control but Gunn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gunn tries to get to full guard but Bryant has control of the leg. Gunn manages to get to full guard.
Bryant drops back looking for a leg! Gunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gunn manages to kick Bryant off! Bryant jumps back into Gunn's guard. Bryant looks gassed! Gunn had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bryant is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gunn Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bryant's back instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryant is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gunn gets his way!
Bryant trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Bryant manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gunn's guard. Nice work there by Bryant.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gunn keeping moving, preventing Bryant from controlling successfully. Bryant looking to pass the guard. Gunn throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bryant escapes and throws Gunn's legs to the side, diving into side control! Gunn is not content to let Bryant control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunn gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Bryant in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gunn tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bryant!
