Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Pot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into the arena with Rob Zombie - Scum of the earth blaring out of the sound system. Pot has chosen Showering of Money as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernando Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Pot! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves throws a leg kick but Pot sees it coming and moves out of range. Pot ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Alves misses with a looping left. Alves is looking to chop away at Pot's legs. Pot throws a counter combo. Pot darts in looking for a takedown but Alves gets double underhooks and turns Pot into the cage. As Pot tries to get set, Alves tries to push him back and clinch up but Pot manages to avoid the attempt. Alves lands with a hook. Pot tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Pot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alves avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slapping body kick lands there for Alves. A momentary lapse in concentration from Alves enables Pot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alves manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Alves controls Pot momentarily but Pot frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Alves trying to control the position.
Alves trying to control the position here. Pot pushing down on Alves's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Alves regains full guard. Nicely done. Pot trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Alves wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Alves preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Alves pulls Pot in close to prevent any damage. Pot wants to pass the guard but Alves is keeping the position. Alves looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Alves has control of Pot's left arm, preventing Pot from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A lazy left from Alves finds it's target. Alves delivers a nice body kick. Pot on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Alves. Alves obviously looking to wear him down.
Fernando Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Pot works over Alves's head and body with a nice combination. Pot shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Alves is trying to defend but Pot finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pot is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alves has managed to free his arm - good work. Pot is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alves is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pot's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pot's back! Pot covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pot is in a bad position with Alves working for a choke. Pot manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pot postures up.
Pot landing some decent shots from guard. Pot wants to control from the top but Alves keeps moving. Pot throwing strikes from guard but Alves blocks nicely. Alves looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Pot pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alves is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jack Pot will probably get the nod. That's time! Alves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Alves misses with a hook. Alves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Pot misses the jab. Alves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Pot misses. Pot throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Alves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pot lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Pot slips a jab and a cross from Alves.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves misses with a hook. Pot ducked under it nicely. Pot appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Pot staying out of range there. Alves has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Alves moves away from the strike by Pot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pot throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alves stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alves as he avoids it easily. Pot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pot shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pot gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alves swivels and escapes. Alves wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Nice shot lands for Alves. A jab lands there for Pot. Pot throws an off balance right hand
and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alves. Alves lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Alves is pressed up against the cage. Pot has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alves down to the mat. Alves avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Fernando Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Pot. Alves thuds his shin into the meat of Pot's side. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pot walks into a straight right hand from Alves.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alves as he jumps to the side. Alves tries to clinch but Pot is having none of it. Pot takes a jab right on the kisser.
Alves getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Jack Pot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alves is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pot. Pot lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Alves missing with a left hand there. Pot was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Good shot there by Alves. Alves throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Alves looks to score with a jab to the body but Pot is just out of range. Pot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alves tries to avoid it but Pot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alves to the ground. Alves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Alves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pot scores with a jab to the body. Alves jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Alves uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pot. Alves does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Pot throws a right hand that Alves ducks under and follows up with a left that Alves also avoids with ease. Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pot swats him away and circles back towards the center. Pot blocks the body kick.
Fernando Alves is winning the standup battle so far. Pot lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Alves scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Pot throws a lazy right hand but Alves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pot circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pot walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Alves misses with a few strikes there.
Pot slips a straight right by Alves. This has been an exciting period of action! Pot shoots in for a double leg but Alves sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Alves pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. As Alves backs off Pot throws a huge counter combo but Alves manages to avoid it all. Alves darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Pot slips a straight right by Alves. A nice side step and Pot releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Alves has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pot goes for a takedown attempt but Alves pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pot is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alves sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Pot throws an overhand right that lands on Alves's shoulder, as Alves tries to avoid the shot. A big left from Alves misses. Pot drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Alves defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Alves dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A swing and a miss from Pot. Pot throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head. A cross from Alves lands. Pot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alves. Alves dodges the punch combination from Pot.
Alves appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Alves throws the kick towards the body but Pot avoids it.

Fernando Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Pot. Nice body punch from Alves. Pot takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Alves. Pot is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Alves lands a left hand.
Alves is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pot can do to turn this around? Alves prevents a takedown attempt there.
A head punch on the inside from Alves fails to land. Alves softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Alves goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Alves lands a right hand. Pot gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pot throwing shots but Alves is blocking nicely. Alves is looking to control Pot's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alves avoid being mounted? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alves wants to improve his position but Pot is controlling well.

Pot is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pot throws a strike but Alves manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Pot tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
