The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali thows a left - swing and a miss!

Junior tries to close the distance and clinch but Ali swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ali misses with a right hand
and Ali takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Monty Ali has been cut.
Ali avoids the body shot from Junior.
Some wild striking there from Ali.
Ali wants to land a leg kick but Junior is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Junior misses with a looping left.
A jab from Ali misses.

Ali tests Junior's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Junior avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ali chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Junior lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Ali motions for Junior to come forward. Ali throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Junior misses with a wild body shot.
The fighters circling - Ali throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Junior throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Ali's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Junior dives in looking to finish as Ali flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Junior's strikes! Junior is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Ali's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Ali was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
