Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokito Takenaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nolan Stuart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tokito Takenaka! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takenaka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Takenaka lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Takenaka has gone for a leg lock! Stuart slips out almost immediately though and dives into Takenaka's guard. Stuart working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Takenaka looking for a guillotine here but Stuart defends easily.
Takenaka has control of Stuart's left arm, preventing Stuart from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stuart controlling from the top position. Takenaka is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stuart is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stuart avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Takenaka looking to control.
Takenaka has his foot on Stuart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stuart works his way back into a safe position though. Stuart makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Takenaka holds on and takes a little breather. Takenaka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Takenaka might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stuart haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Takenaka is pulling down on Stuart's head to control his posture. Stuart postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takenaka keeping moving, preventing Stuart from controlling successfully. Takenaka controlling the position. Takenaka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Takenaka is looking for a triangle but Stuart pushes his legs off easily.
Takenaka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stuart trying to control the position from guard on top but Takenaka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takenaka looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takenaka working for submissions but it's allowed Stuart to get to half guard.
Stuart sitting and controlling from the half guard. Stuart not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stuart is keen to just control but Takenaka is a slippery customer. Stuart scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Stuart takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Takenaka is pressing down on Stuart's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takenaka looking to control but Stuart passes into half guard.
Takenaka is holding on to half guard well. Stuart is looking to take a break and control but Takenaka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Takenaka looking for submissions off his back. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Takenaka actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tokito Takenaka dominated that round. That's time! Stuart's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Stuart throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takenaka's waist but Takenaka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stuart off to one side. Stuart fails with an attempt to clinch.
Takenaka gets a double leg takedown into Stuart's guard. Takenaka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stuart is keeping the position for now. Takenaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Stuart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Takenaka pushing down on Stuart's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takenaka is looking for a kimura but Stuart is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Takenaka to get the leverage. Takenaka wants to take a breather but Stuart is having none of it. Takenaka has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Stuart tries to kick Takenaka off but Takenaka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takenaka is looking for submissions but instead, Stuart has regained full guard.
Takenaka working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Takenaka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stuart works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Takenaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Stuart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Takenaka stands up from Stuart's guard - Takenaka perhaps looking for a knockout. Takenaka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Takenaka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Takenaka missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Takenaka not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Takenaka sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stuart defending well though. Tokito Takenaka has got the better of the ground game so far. Takenaka is looking for a kimura here.
Takenaka maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Stuart could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Takenaka has cracked it and Stuart is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Takenaka!
