Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thorvaldur Freyr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Murray is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thorvaldur Freyr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Murray! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murray misses with an uppercut. Freyr pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Murray's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Murray's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Murray takes a shot right to the bread basket. Freyr shoots in for a takedown but Murray shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Murray blocks a head kick by Freyr.
Freyr scores with the left hand. Murray knows he should have avoided that one. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Murray checks a leg kick. Freyr misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Murray.
Freyr rushes Murray and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freyr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Freyr tries to score with a low kick but Murray moves his leg out of the way. Freyr wants to clinch up but Murray keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freyr loads up on a big right hand but Murray slips the punch. Murray moves out of range of the strikes. Freyr moves to clinch but Murray breaks away so Murray counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Murray drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Freyr dives on top into guard.
Murray looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Freyr tries to stand but Murray is controlling from the bottom. Murray throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Freyr escapes and throws Murray's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murray tries to bench press Freyr off him but Freyr keeps the position. Murray wants to control but Freyr postures up. Murray gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murray wants to control but Freyr is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murray is looking to improve his position.
Murray is trying to control but can't.
Freyr seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Murray tries to roll over but Freyr keeps him under control. Murray moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Freyr would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Freyr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Murray has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Freyr has managed to get both his arms back between Murray's legs - danger averted. Murray is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freyr defends well. Freyr postures up.
Freyr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murray on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Freyr stopping the sweep attempt from Murray. Murray is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Thorvaldur Freyr will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Freyr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Murray shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Freyr sprawls well. Freyr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Murray gets slowly back to his feet. Murray moves out of range of the strikes. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Freyr is looking to clinch but Murray is avoiding it.
Murray keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murray keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
An inside leg kick from Freyr misses. Freyr moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freyr misses with a takedown attempt and Murray counters with a takedown into side control. Murray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Freyr keeps working. Freyr prevents Murray from improving position. Murray has an Americana. Freyr didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Murray is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Murray hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Steven Murray!
