The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pequeno lands with a hook. Mcknight tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

It looks like Giovanni Mcknight has been cut.
Pequeno throws an off balance right hand

and Mcknight holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pequeno tries to break free but Mcknight pushes him back against the cage.
Pequeno wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mcknight has him pressed against the cage.
Mcknight has a couple of punches blocked by Pequeno.
Mcknight struggles to land a body shot inside as Pequeno controls his hands.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Pequeno as Mcknight tries to tie him up.

Mcknight has Pequeno pressed against the cage, preventing Pequeno from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Pequeno is trying to force a seperation but Mcknight has the dominant position.

Mcknight swings wildly with an uppercut but Pequeno uses good head movement to avoid it.

Pequeno breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcknight takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Mcknight changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pequeno looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pequeno tries to escape but Mcknight is in control.
Mcknight in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Mcknight scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pequeno to see if he's OK.
Pequeno is trying to buck Mcknight off.
Mcknight throws an elbow but Pequeno slips to the side and avoids it well.
Mcknight throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Mcknight in side control, throwing shots but Pequeno defends.
Mcknight lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The strikes coming from Mcknight are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Pequeno is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mcknight has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Pequeno lands a nice shot that snaps Mcknight's head back.
