Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julio Andre Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ethan Tran was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julio Andre Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Tran! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tran looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Souza avoids the head kick by Tran.
A nice leg kick lands there from Tran. Tran lands with an uppercut that bounces Souza off the cage and back into range. Good leg kick by Souza there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tran slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Tran. Tran closes the distance and lands a one-two. Ethan Tran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Souza on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tran. Tran obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tran throws a nice looking combination but Souza bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Souza takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Souza shoots in and drives through. Tran sprawls well. Tran misses with a head kick.

Souza shoots in for a takedown but Tran shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tran looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tran scores with a jab. Souza acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Tran lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Souza darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Tran has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Souza escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Souza! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Souza tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Souza has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tran is not content to let Souza control the position. Souza swings around for an armbar but Tran sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Souza's guard.

Souza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Tran looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tran keeping moving, preventing Souza from controlling successfully. Souza passes Tran's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Ethan Tran dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It partially lands. Souza shoots in but no luck this time. Tran throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range. Tran is looking to slow Souza down with leg kicks. Souza seems to have got his legs back now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tran knocks Souza to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!? Tran tries for a kimura but Souza is defending well. Tran looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tran tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tran is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Souza is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Tran is breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Souza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Souza is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tran tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tran working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Souza is trying to get back to half guard. Tran thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Souza tries to improve position but can't. Tran has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tran is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Souza is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Souza has escaped and now he's on top!

Souza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tran on the ground. Souza taking a breather here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Tran showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Souza takes a kick to the side of the head. Tran takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Souza darts in looking for a takedown but Tran gets double underhooks and turns Souza into the cage.

Tran wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Souza jumps guard but Tran turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Tran misses with a knee strike.
Tran is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Tran can't break the clinch.
Tran is fighting off a takedown attempt but Souza is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tran to the mat. Tran regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Souza trying to control the position from guard on top but Tran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Souza controls from within his opponent's guard. Souza passes into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Souza smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Tran throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Souza. Ethan Tran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tran sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Souza to the ground! Tran dives into full mount looking to finish! Tran has isolated one of Souza's arms. Souza looking to fight him off but Tran twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
