Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brady Battaglia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Tremblay! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Battaglia has his takedown stuffed and Tremblay counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Battaglia! Battaglia tries to bench press Tremblay off him but Tremblay keeps the position. Tremblay working the body and head with strikes. Tremblay trying to control the action but Battaglia is working from the bottom. Battaglia is trying to control Tremblay's posture but Tremblay avoids it. Battaglia is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tremblay lands with a punch from half guard. Battaglia wants to control but Tremblay is keeping busy.
Tremblay thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tremblay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Battaglia keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Battaglia is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tremblay scores with a couple of nice shots. Battaglia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tremblay wants to control but Battaglia is keeping him busy. Tremblay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Battaglia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Battaglia is looking for a sweep. Tremblay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nice strikes from Tremblay there. Tremblay wants to free his trapped foot but Battaglia is holding on for dear life with his legs. Battaglia could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Battaglia tries to get to full guard but Tremblay has control of the leg. Battaglia gets full guard. Battaglia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Battaglia is trying to control the position but Tremblay postures up. Tremblay is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Battaglia has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tremblay is looking to defend but Battaglia has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tremblay! Battaglia pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tremblay taps out and this one is all over!
