Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erin Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smash Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erin Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Smash Stratton! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Erin Jenkins has been cut. Jenkins defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stratton. Jenkins avoids a kick to the body.
Stratton forces Jenkins back against the cage and clinches. The referee is keeping an eye on Jenkins - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Stratton tries to pull guard but Jenkins forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jenkins is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Stratton is struggling to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stratton tries a knee to the head but Jenkins blocks it.

Jenkins has Stratton pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stratton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Stratton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Stratton is trying to break the clinch but Jenkins has him pressed against the cage. Stratton is working for takedown but Jenkins is calmly controlling the position for now. Jenkins wants a takedown but no success here.

Stratton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jenkins finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Stratton closes the distance and pushes Jenkins back into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Stratton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jenkins jumps guard and drags Stratton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Stratton stands up from Jenkins's guard - Stratton perhaps looking for a knockout. Stratton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Stratton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jenkins's efforts to push away. Jenkins decides to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stratton trying to control the position from guard on top but Jenkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stratton controls from within his opponent's guard. Jenkins keeping moving, preventing Stratton from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stratton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Stratton wants to stand but Jenkins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jenkins leaves Stratton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Stratton moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stratton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jenkins as he jumps to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Erin Jenkins will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Erin Jenkins's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jenkins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Stratton thows a leg kick but Jenkins checks it and Jenkins counters with a lovely straight right hand! Stratton feints and as Jenkins raises his hands in defense, Stratton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Stratton looking to sit in guard and control but Jenkins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jenkins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jenkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jenkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jenkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Stratton seems keen to control Jenkins's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins trying to control but Stratton is working from the bottom. Stratton controls Jenkins momentarily but Jenkins frees himself. Stratton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jenkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jenkins stands up from Stratton's guard - Jenkins perhaps looking for a knockout. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jenkins tries to pull guard but Stratton won't allow it.

Stratton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stratton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stratton breaks the clinch.
Stratton tries to keep at a distance but Jenkins has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Jenkins - that landed with a thud.

Jenkins wants to sweep here but Stratton controlling him for the moment. Stratton looking to sit in guard and control but Jenkins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Stratton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stratton working a defensive guard here.
Stratton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jenkins with a flurry of punches that miss. Jenkins passes into half guard. Jenkins slips a nice elbow through Stratton's hands, connecting with Stratton's forehead. Jenkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stratton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stratton is refusing to be controlled, as Jenkins sits in half guard. Erin Jenkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stratton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Stratton decides to pull guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jenkins with a flurry of punches that miss. Jenkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stratton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stratton has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stratton trying to control but Jenkins is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stratton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Stratton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Stratton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jenkins throwing strikes but missing. Stratton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jenkins is one step ahead there. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jenkins's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jenkins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stratton looking for a sweep. Not yet Stratton, not yet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jenkins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jenkins gets a takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Smash Stratton. I think Jenkins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
