Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darwin France (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). France has chosen bring me to life as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tommy Gavin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darwin France!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
France lands with a kick to the temple. Gavin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Gavin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gavin connects with the punch.
Gavin throws the left hand but France avoids the punch easily.
France drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gavin defends it well.
Nice uppercut lands for France. That snapped Gavin's head back.
Gavin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
France dives in for a single leg takedown but Gavin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
France has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
France lands a really nice looking cross but Gavin seems unphased.
France scores with a decent looking hook.
France shoots in for a takedown but Gavin shows good takedown defense.
France takes a swing at Gavin's ribcage but misses.
Gavin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
France looks to score with a jab to the body but Gavin is just out of range.
Gavin misses with a body kick.
France swings for the body but Gavin moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
France takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gavin misses with a few strikes there.
Gavin leaves France with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tommy Gavin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darwin France.
Gavin misses with a body shot.
France fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gavin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Gavin cracks France with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
France looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
France blocks a head kick by Gavin.
Donk. France catches Gavin right on the button with a cross.
Gavin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
France fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from France.
France throws out a loose jab but Gavin uses good head movement to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gavin lands a jab.
Gavin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
France misses the shot to the body.
Gavin tried to counter with a leg kick but France avoided it.
Darwin France seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

France misses the shot to the body.
Gavin moves out of range as France strikes.
Gavin appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

France fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gavin to the ground. France is now in Gavin's guard.
France passes Gavin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gavin trying to hold on to France's head to control him but France postures up.
France throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

France is looking for a kimura but Gavin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for France to get the leverage.
France passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gavin!
France putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
France with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
France controlling the position easily from mount.
Gavin has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of France's lack of action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gavin wants to get back to full guard.
Gavin tries to regain full guard. Instead though, France has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
France trying to control but he's not successful this time.
France is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

France with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gavin is looking to improve his position but France isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darwin France dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gavin takes a shot to the body in his stride.

France closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gavin's guard.
Darwin France has got the better of the ground game so far.
France postures up.
France content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
France trying to control the position from guard on top but Gavin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
France might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gavin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
France trying to control but Gavin is working from the bottom.
France tries to free his leg and advance position but Gavin is retaining full guard.

France working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
France advances position into side control!

France is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gavin is trying to escape and France transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gavin is forced to tap! Nice work there by France! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Darwin France!
A very excited looking Darwin France made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
