Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Karwoski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hells Bells. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia moves into range and connects with a jab.
Maia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slow jab from Maia misses its intended target.
Maia takes a swing at Karwoski's ribcage but misses.
Karwoski throws a right and a left that Maia avoids nicely.
Maia bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Karwoski's head.
Karwoski lunges at Maia with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Maia's hand.
Karwoski closes the distance and pushes Maia back into the cage.
I was talking to Maia's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A nice left hand lands by Maia.
Karwoski takes a shot to the head.
Karwoski lands a nice uppercut.
Maia doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Maia takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Maia lands a right hand that snaps the head of Karwoski backwards.

Karwoski takes a swing at Maia's ribcage but misses.
Maia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Karwoski moves away.
Maia cracks a nice hook into Karwoski's ribs.
Maia throws a jab but it's blocked by Karwoski.
Karwoski wants to counter the offense by Maia and move into the clinch position.
Karwoski takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Karwoski walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A nice leg kick lands there from Maia.

and Karwoski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Maia ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Maia counters with a left to the body.

Maia lands a nice looking body kick.
Maia pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Karwoski back to the cage. Maia follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Karwoski walks straight into a right hand from Maia - that's dropped him! Maia jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Karwoski from any more punishment! Karwoski complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Miko Maia!
