PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koji Murosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Renner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murosaki comes into the arena with Now We Are Free blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Renner's choice of entrance music: God Particle. Koji Murosaki had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Renner!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renner throws a solid leg kick but Murosaki takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Renner.
Murosaki clobbers Renner with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Renner throws a shot from downtown. Murosaki moves away and avoids it.

Renner cracks Murosaki with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice straight punches there by Renner. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Renner.

Murosaki thuds his right hand into Renner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Renner takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looked like Murosaki was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Renner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murosaki is pressing down on Renner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Murosaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Renner circles away quickly and effectively.

That was a close round but I would say that Koji Murosaki will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Jeremy Renner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Renner shoots in but Murosaki avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As Murosaki backs off Renner throws a huge counter combo but Murosaki manages to avoid it all.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Renner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Murosaki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Renner is in Murosaki's guard.
Murosaki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Renner's guard.

Renner changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Murosaki throws an overhand right that lands on Renner's shoulder, as Renner tries to avoid the shot.
Renner unleashes a big counter combination but Murosaki bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Renner fails to land the takedown.
Murosaki swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
