Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hjalti Eyj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eyj comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Sexy and I Know It. James has chosen NWO Wolfpack as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hjalti Eyj!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy James!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eyj blocks a head kick by James.
James misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

James drops his shoulder and cracks Eyj with a huge uppercut! Eyj goes down! Can James finish him?


It looks like Hjalti Eyj has been cut.

Eyj is looking for a triangle here but James uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Eyj gets back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James throwing shots but Eyj is blocking nicely.
James throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Eyj to regain full guard.

Eyj had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. James defends it easily.
James connects with a couple of short punches.
Eyj trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Eyj tries to land a sweep but no joy.
James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Eyj is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Eyj preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Eyj is retaining full guard.
Eyj pulls James in close to his closed guard and prevents James from doing any damage or advancing position.

Eyj is looking for a triangle but James pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Eyj preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Eyj looking to control.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Eyj is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Eyj throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Eyj misses with a head kick.
Eyj fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but James is out of range.
Eyj throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily.
James feints a counter leg kick.

Eyj gets a double leg takedown into James's guard.
James controls Eyj momentarily but Eyj frees himself.
James wants to sweep here but Eyj controlling him for the moment.
We've been hearing that Eyj has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Eyj can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Eyj advances position into side control!
Eyj wants to control for a moment but James uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James actively working from the bottom here.
Eyj wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
James tries to get to full guard but Eyj has control of the leg.
James is looking to control Eyj's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can James avoid being mounted?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Eyj is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
James tries to roll over but Eyj keeps him under control.

Eyj is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
James is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy James dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hjalti Eyj's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


James throws a jab when Eyj was well out of range.
Eyj on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
James moves out of range of the leg kick from Eyj.
A little jabbing left from James on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Eyj throws a head kick that misses.
James misses with a hook.
Eyj thinks about countering with a body kick.
Eyj tries to land a leg kick but James saw it coming and moves away.
James throws a fast counter high kick but Eyj manages to duck under it in time.
Eyj fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
James swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Eyj counters with a good low kick that James was not able to check.

A head kick lands from James that sends Eyj to the canvas. Eyj tries to scramble back to his feet but James brings him back down into side control.


Eyj is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Eyj! James senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Eyj out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jimmy James!
Jimmy James made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I knew this was going to be a war. He's a tough guy and he showed it tonight. I don't know how many more fights I have left in me but I am going to enjoy every one. Especially the victories!'.
