Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patton comes to the cage accompanied by Marilyn Manson - Born Villain . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
48 - 17 - 2, fighting out of New York, Michael Patton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Riggs! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggs with a nice cross. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Riggs checks a leg kick. Patton has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Instincts in the buildup to the fight. Riggs is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Riggs misses the jab. Patton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Patton misses with a body shot
and Riggs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Patton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Riggs was well out of range. Poor timing from Patton. Riggs jabs Patton right on the nose. Patton blinks but takes it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Riggs scores with a jab to the body. A nice inside leg kick there by Patton. That's going to slow Riggs down. Patton lands a nice looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Patton.
A combination from Patton does no damage. No joy there for Patton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Riggs throws a sloppy head kick and Patton counters with a nice uppercut. Patton turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Riggs drives through and clinches with Patton against the cage.

Riggs tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Patton's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Patton wants to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Riggs. Patton tries to throw a body punch but Riggs avoids it by throwing Patton back against the cage. Patton is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Riggs is keeping busy. Patton blocks a body shot from Riggs. Riggs tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Riggs lands a right hand that snaps the head of Patton backwards. Riggs lands with a short head shot on the inside. Patton has a couple of punches blocked by Riggs.

Martin Riggs dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Patton getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Patton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Riggs moves away. Patton jabs Riggs to the body, keeping him at a distance. Patton throws a leg kick but Riggs sees it coming and moves out of range. A kick lands to the mid section there for Patton. Patton throws a sloppy head kick and Riggs moves out of range easily. Riggs dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Patton. That did some damage! Patton moves away from the strike by Riggs. Patton swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patton keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Riggs works Patton's body with a nice hook. Patton lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A jab from Patton misses. Riggs with a body punch. A glancing blow. Patton throws a half hearted mid kick. Patton throws a head kick that misses. Patton throws a predictable looking body shot
and Riggs counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. A swing and a miss from Riggs. Patton tried to counter with a leg kick but Riggs avoided it.

Riggs wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Patton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Patton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Patton misses with a head kick.
Riggs tries to clinch there but Patton circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Patton misses its target. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Riggs tries to close the distance and clinch but Patton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Donk. Riggs catches Patton right on the button with a cross. Patton misses with an uppercut
and Riggs makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Riggs throws a low kick but it's checked well by Patton. Michael Patton is winning the standup battle so far. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Riggs, right into the meat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riggs punishes Patton's body with a nice straight punch. Patton misses with a body punch
and Riggs counters with a left to the body. Patton is looking to wear down Riggs with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A good leg kick by Riggs. Patton swings and misses with a shot to the body and Riggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Patton tried to score with a low kick but Riggs checks it. Patton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Riggs. Riggs feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Patton's calf. Riggs takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Riggs stalks Patton and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Patton's face. Patton staggers backwards, shaken.
Patton is rocked! Patton throws a head kick but Riggs moves out of range.
Oh Patton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice defenses there by Patton. Patton seems to have got his legs back now.

Patton throws a combination that misses and Riggs counters with a low kick, right behind Patton 's knee. Patton checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Riggs misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Patton counters with a thumping low kick. Riggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Patton moves away. Patton misses with a double jab.
Patton thows a leg kick but Riggs checks it and Riggs counters with a straight right hand. Riggs thows a leg kick but Patton checks it and Patton counters with a body kick that stops Riggs in his tracks momentarily. Patton fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Riggs is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin Riggs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Riggs throws a hook but Patton avoids it easily. Riggs has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Riggs displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Patton throws out the jab. Patton fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Riggs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Patton throws the kick towards the body but Riggs avoids it. Jab, jab by Riggs - just one landing. A swing and a miss from Patton. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riggs closes the distance and clinches. Riggs pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Riggs.

Patton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Riggs misses with a body punch.

Martin Riggs seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Riggs lands with a light punch inside. Michael Patton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Patton. Riggs throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Riggs lands a shot to the body. Riggs tries to throw a body punch but Patton avoids it by throwing Riggs back against the cage. Riggs unloads a knee to the mid-section. Patton lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Patton blocks an uppercut.

Riggs misses with a low kick. Patton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Sloppy strikes from Riggs. Those never looked like landing. Patton appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Riggs waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Patton. Riggs throws a leg kick which misses Patton's front leg but catches the back leg as Patton tries to avoid it. Patton avoids the head kick by Riggs.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Riggs has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Patton. Patton throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A big left from Riggs misses. A counter left hand to the body from Patton misses its target. Patton drops his hands momentarily and Riggs takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Patton on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Patton ducks under a wild hook from Riggs. Patton is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Riggs. Riggs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patton manages to avoid it. Patton throws a leg kick but Riggs checks it. Patton swings away with a leg kick that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Martin Riggs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Riggs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
