Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Okabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaze comes to the cage accompanied by Tupac ft Lil Mo - Niggaz Nature. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Blaze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Okabe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okabe throws a shot from downtown. Blaze moves away and avoids it.
Okabe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Okabe throws a right hand that misses
and Blaze counters with a nice low kick that buckles Okabe's knee momentarily.
Okabe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Blaze counters with an inside leg kick.
Okabe misses the shot to the body.
Blaze shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Okabe shoots for a takedown but Blaze saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Okabe walks forward, straight into a front kick from Blaze.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A good leg kick by Blaze.

Okabe gets a double leg takedown into Blaze's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Okabe tries to free his leg and advance position but Blaze is retaining full guard.

Okabe wants to control from the top but Blaze keeps moving.
Okabe throws a big right hand that misses.
Blaze is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Blaze wants to stand up but Okabe is controlling him.
Blaze definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Okabe connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Blaze, right into the meat.
Blaze takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Blaze stuffs the takedown.
Alexander Blaze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Okabe.
A big left from Okabe misses.
Okabe misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Okabe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Okabe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Blaze.
Blaze dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Okabe. That did some damage!
Blaze throws a leg kick but Okabe checks it.
Blaze connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Okabe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blaze is fending him off so far but Okabe persists. Nope, Blaze circles away and we're back to standing.
Blaze lands with a shot to the body.

Okabe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A telegraphed right hand from Okabe misses the target.
Blaze appears to be looking for a big counter.
Blaze lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Okabe looks to throw the jab but Blaze is out of range.
Blaze scores with a hook to the body. Okabe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A slow jab from Blaze misses its intended target.
Blaze fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Okabe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Okabe counters with a shoot takedown. Blaze fights it but they end up in guard.

Okabe tries to free his leg and advance position but Blaze is retaining full guard.
Okabe pushes down on Blaze's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Blaze is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Okabe wants to pass to mount but Blaze is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexander Blaze will probably get the nod.
That's time! Blaze's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Blaze scores with a head kick. Okabe tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Okabe misses with a right hand
and Blaze counters with a good low kick that Okabe was not able to check.
Okabe's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Okabe misses with a takedown attempt - Blaze sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kenji Okabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick from Blaze misses.
Okabe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Blaze.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Blaze here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Blaze will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Okabe just misses with a punch to the body.
Blaze fires out a quick counter leg kick but Okabe just manages to avoid it.
Okabe scores with a decent looking hook.
Okabe shoots in but no luck this time.
Blaze was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Okabe has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Blaze.

Blaze throws a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Okabe is defended easily by Blaze.
Alexander Blaze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Okabe.

and Okabe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Okabe.

Blaze really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blaze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Okabe won't allow Blaze to sweep him here.

Okabe thows a huge punch but Blaze dodges it nicely.

Okabe slows the pace down in half guard.
Okabe wants to pass the guard but Blaze is defending well.
Okabe works his foot free and advances to mount.
Okabe looking to finish Blaze with some ground and pound. This is bad for Blaze!

Blaze manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Blaze, under a barage of strikes from Okabe.

Blaze is looking for a sweep. Okabe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Blaze tries to roll over but Okabe keeps him under control.
Okabe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Blaze's head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Okabe wants to pass the guard but Blaze is defending well.

Okabe is keen to just control but Blaze is a slippery customer.

Kenji Okabe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Blaze attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Okabe.

Okabe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Okabe thuds his right hand into Blaze's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Blaze keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A quick step to the side and Blaze tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Blaze scores with a leg kick.
Blaze thumps Okabe with a low kick.
Okabe sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Okabe with the counter takedown but Blaze avoids it easily.
Okabe shoots for a double leg takedown but Blaze sprawls well. He's pushed Okabe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Blaze throws the left hand but Okabe avoids the punch easily.
Alexander Blaze is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters circling - Okabe throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Blaze counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Okabe is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Okabe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Okabe lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Okabe postures up and lands a big shot to Blaze's brow.
Blaze keeping moving, preventing Okabe from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Okabe passes Blaze's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Blaze is looking for a sweep. Okabe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexander Blaze.
I think Blaze has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
