Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, RJ Cherubim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Flynn White! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cherubim looking to score a takedown here. White is defending well but Cherubim drives through and ends up in White's guard. Cherubim advances to half guard. White tries to kick Cherubim off but Cherubim keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Cherubim is taking a breather. White says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cherubim is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cherubim stops White from getting back to his feet.
Cherubim trying to control from half guard but White is working away. Cherubim is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cherubim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. White scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cherubim manages to mount him!
Cherubim working White over with strikes here. Cherubim content just to control the position here. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cherubim seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down White for as long as he can get away with. White is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cherubim trying to control but White is having none of it. White is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Cherubim looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Cherubim looking to control and managing it successfully. Cherubim is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, White has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cherubim wants to control the pace but White is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Cherubim takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. White tries to buck Cherubim off but he can't manage it. Cherubim trying to control but he's not successful this time. Cherubim lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. White is in a horrible position here. Cherubim smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Cherubim swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
