Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dean Bean!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bean is looking to clinch.
Stephens misses the shot to the body.
Bean with a lazy takedown attempt
and Stephens counters with a two punch combo.
Dean Bean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stephens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

It looks like Dwight Stephens has been cut.
Stephens could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Stephens gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bean is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Stephens is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bean to keep the fight standing.

Bean decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stephens, up you get!
Stephens throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bean changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stephens tries to avoid it but Bean manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stephens to the ground. Stephens escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dwight Stephens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Bean.
Bean's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bean duly obliges.
Bean tries to clinch
and Stephens counters with a left and a right that stings Bean.
Bean darts in looking for a takedown but Stephens gets double underhooks and turns Bean into the cage.

Stephens manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Stephens is looking to sweep but instead, Bean has passed into half guard.
Stephens has his hands clasped together around Bean's back. He's all about the action.
Stephens wants to get back to his feet.
Bean wants to stand but Stephens has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Bean seems to be looking for submissions.
Stephens pushes Bean off looking to stand but Bean dives back in and keeps control.
Stephens lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Bean wants to pass to mount but Stephens is defending the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bean feints and as Stephens raises his hands in defense, Bean changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stephens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bean on the ground.
Stephens wants to sweep here but Bean controlling him for the moment.

Bean trying to control the position from guard on top but Stephens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bean throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Stephens fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bean looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stephens. Bean does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bean shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stephens pinned against the cage. Stephens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bean goes for a double leg but Stephens avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stephens continues to drive forward.

Stephens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Stephens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Stephens closes the distance and pushes Bean back into the cage.

Bean jumps guard but Stephens stands there with Bean around his waist. Bean gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bean has Stephens pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stephens manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Stephens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stephens seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Bean is looking to control Stephens's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bean avoid being mounted?

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Stephens tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bean avoids it.
Bean lands a body punch in the clinch.
Bean has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bean changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stephens fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Bean throws an elbow that misses. Stephens uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bean's guard. Nice move by Stephens!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stephens wants to stand but Bean has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Stephens gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Stephens is looking to wear down Bean with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dwight Stephens.
Well Stephens has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
