Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abe Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durden comes to the cage accompanied by Monster. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edward Durden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abe Cain!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Durden scores with a takedown into Cain's guard.
Cain looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Durden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Durden with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cain keeping moving, preventing Durden from controlling successfully.
Durden working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Durden trying to control but Cain is working from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Durden advances position into side control!

Cain is looking for a sweep.
Cain is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Durden wants to control but Cain is keeping him busy.
Durden misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Durden controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durden is putting a hurting on Cain here, landing some big shots from side control.
Durden lands an elbow.
Durden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cain wants to control but Durden postures up.
Durden working the body and head with strikes.
Durden scores with a couple of short elbows.
Durden throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Durden trying to control the position but Cain is working away.
Durden working the head with strikes.
Durden connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cain some visible discomfort.
Durden is working Cain over with some ground and pound from side control.

Durden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Durden misses with the ground and pound.

Cain is not content to let Durden control the position.
The strikes coming from Durden are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Cain bucks up and tries to throw Durden off but instead Durden has got his back!
Cain is covering up but some of the strikes from Durden are getting through and doing damage.

Durden is looking for the choke from the back position but Cain is controlling his hands well.

Cain is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Durden missing with strikes.
Durden has the hooks in. Cain is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Durden.
Durden lands a shot to the body.
Durden controlling well, preventing Cain from escaping the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cain defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Durden's arms.
Cain is trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edward Durden dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cain tries to close the distance and clinch but Durden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Durden gets the takedown into side control.
Cain takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Durden works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cain can't do much from the bottom here.
Durden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cain keeps working.
Edward Durden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Durden advances to full mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durden scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Durden looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Durden in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Durden prevents Cain from getting the reversal.
Durden cracks Cain with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Durden cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
BOOM! Durden connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Cain is bucking up trying to escape but Durden cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Durden with good strikes from the mount here!


Cain is rocked!
Durden prevents Cain from getting the reversal.
Cain is still in real trouble! Can Durden finish him?
Durden scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Durden working the ground and pound effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Durden looking to finish Cain with some ground and pound. This is bad for Cain!
Durden lands a big elbow - Cain is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Cain is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Edward Durden!
An out of breath Edward Durden thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
